2026 is absolutely stacked with big titles. From continiuing saga's to interesting orignal standalone films. Here are the top 10 films i'm looking forward to the most!

The Odyssey (2026)

10. Toy Story 5

Woody, Buzz, Jessie and the rest of the gang's jobs are challenged when they're introduced to electronics, a new threat to playtime.

Why Toy Story 5 is in this list:

Toy Story has always been my favorite childhood film. Even with the release of Toy Story 4, I couldn't help myself but enjoy these films. I still think even though we grow old, our inner childhood will never leave. I just can't wait to see Woody and Buzz kicking ass on the big screen again!

9. Clayface

Genre: Horror

Directed by: James Watkins

Release: October 23rd

Rising Hollywood star Matt Hagen descends into a horrifying revenge-filled monster when scientific ambition strips him of his identity and humanity.

Why Clayface is in this list:

I've always been a big fan of DC comics since it's so dark and more "realistic" than other comic book media. In this first standalone Clayface project, they take the genre to another level. As a big horror fan, I am just so excited to see a horror comic book film. I'm expecting this film to be extremely unsettling and gruesome, and I think that'll be a perfect addition to the DC franchise.

8. Avengers: Doomsday

Directed by: The Russo Brothers

Release: December !8th

Why Avengers: Doomsday is in this list:

To start, I'm not the biggest fan of the latest Marvel projects, but I think even though this film might disappoint, the hype around it will make it worth it. Packed theaters, excited fans, this film will absolutely hit the media no matter what. I think Marvel has a big chance of surprising the audience with this film. It has been in the works for a long time, so it should be worth the wait!

7. Resident Evil

Genre: Horror

Directed by: Zach Cregger

Release: September 18th

Follows a hapless courier tasked with delivering a package to a remote hospital. He soon finds himself caught in the middle of an outbreak and must fight through hordes of mutated creatures to survive.

Why Resident Evil is in this list:

We've had a rough history of Resident Evil films with barely any project being liked by the fans. They all try to focus on characters and stories we already know, and the portrayal of most characters is just bad and disappointing for the fans. After watching Zach Cregger's breakdown on the trailer, I'm fully convinced this film will rock. He crafted something unique and original while still holding the atmosphere and survival horror of the game. Resident Evil has always been my favorite gaming franchise, so I am absolutely thrilled to watch this!

6. Hope

Genre: Thriller

Directed by: Na Hong-Jin

Release: TBA (expected this summer)

A mysterious discovery is made on the outskirts of the remote harbor town. The residents find themselves in a desperate fight for survival against something they have never encountered before.

Why Hope is in this list:

Hope is Na Hong-Jin's newest project after releasing 3 successful films: The Wailing (2016), The Chaser (2008), and The Yellow Sea (2010). The way this artist captures intense and nerve-wracking moments is out of this world. I have never seen a director able to make my heart pound twice as fast as Na Hong-Jin does. Insane revenge moments and crazy good scripts—I am absolutely pumped to see what the man cooked up this time!

5. Spider-Man: Brand New Day

Genre: Actie

Directed by: Destin Daniel cretton

Release: july 30th

A forgotten Peter Parker lives alone as a full-time Spider-Man until mounting pressure triggers a dangerous change and a powerful new enemy emerges.

Why Spider-Man: Brand New Day is in this list:

Let's be honest, guys. Is there really a "bad" Spider-Man film? Well, in my opinion, there isn't. Sure, some are better than others, but in general, they never disappoint. After watching the trailer, I got absolute goosebumps, and I am so excited to see the red goat on the big screen again. The characters look promising, and both the Punisher and Scorpion being in it is just so cool. Who knows what surprises this film holds, but I will absolutely be there on July 30th!

4. Evil Dead Burn

Genre: Horror

Directed by: Sébastien Vanicek

Release: July 10th

After the loss of her husband, a woman seeks solace with her in-laws. As one by one they transform into deadites, she comes to discover that the vows she took in life - survive even in death.

Why Evil Dead Burn is in this list

Evil Dead is by far the most successful horror franchise that is still standing. There's not a single miss in this franchise despite its crazy turn from "comedy" horror to gruesome and terrifying moments in the Evil Dead remake (2013). Even though our hero Ash Williams hasn't been in any of the modern Evil Dead films, this franchise is still as strong as ever. The deadites are even freakier than before, but still with a good comedy twist. Evil Dead Rise is my favorite modern horror film, and Evil Dead in general is my favorite horror franchise, so I sure as hell am looking forward to this!

3. The Odyssey

Genre: History

Directed by: Christopher Nolan

Release: July 17th

After the Trojan War, Odysseus faces a dangerous voyage back to Ithaca, meeting creatures like the Cyclops Polyphemus, Sirens, and Circe along the way.

Why The Odyssey is in this list:

Let's be honest, do I even have to explain? Another project from Nolan stacked with good actors. The plot seems interesting, the cinematography looks insanely stunning, and this just looks like a promising epic film. I can't imagine this being disappointing...

2. Godzilla Minus Zero

Genre: Action

Directed by: Takashi Yamazaki

Release: November 3rd

A direct sequel to Godzilla Minus one (2024)

Why Godzilla Minus Zero is in this list

Godzilla Minus One is one of my favorite releases of the 21st century. It's an epic addition to the Godzilla franchise and easily my favorite. Crazy visuals, bizarre sound design, and horrifying moments. Godzilla Minus Zero cannot disappoint. I am so looking forward to this one!

1. Dune part 3

Genre: Action

Directed by: Denis Villeneuve

Release: December 18th

Emperor Paul Atreides faces the fallout from his ascent to power as political plots and a galaxy-wide holy war endanger the future only he can see.

Why Dune part 3 is in this list:

Watch the trailer and come back. Easily the most epic trailer I've seen in a while. The chanting, the visuals, the music, and the action look absolutely insane. Parts 1 and 2 were already insanely good, so I can't imagine the conclusion of this trilogy being bad. The cast is absolutely stacked again, and Timothée Chalamet's performance looks promising.
